China approved a substantial 1 trillion yuan bond issue for disaster recovery and infrastructure improvement, reaffirming its commitment to economic growth. This comes despite a near-guaranteed 5% full-year GDP growth target. The global refined copper market reported a 33,000 metric ton deficit in August, up from July’s 30,000 metric ton deficit, according to the International Copper Study Group (ICSG).
