Indian indices opened lower October 3 with Nifty below 19,550.
The Sensex was down 334.34 points or 0.51 percent at 65,494.07, and the Nifty was down 106.20 points or 0.54 percent at 19,532.10. About 1335 shares advanced, 926 shares declined, and 181 shares unchanged.
Eicher Motors, ONGC, Hindalco Industries, Tata Consumer and SBI Life Insurance were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were M&M, Adani Ports, Ultra Tech Cement, Asian Paints and BPCL.
