Natural gas yesterday settled down by -0.29% at 209.3 on forecasts for demand to decline as the heat wave blanketing much of the central part of the country and Texas becomes less brutal. Extreme heat boosts the amount of gas burned to produce power for cooling, especially in Texas, which gets most of its electricity from gas-fired plants.
