Indian indices opened higher on April 24 with Nifty around 17,700.
The Sensex was up 195.46 points or 0.33% at 59,850.52, and the Nifty was up 46.10 points or 0.26% at 17,670.10. About 1255 shares advanced, 796 shares declined, and 136 shares unchanged.
HDFC Life, ICICI Bank, Tata Consumer Products, Wipro and Reliance Industries were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Labs, BPCL, NTPC and TCS.

निफ्टी पर एचडीएफसी लाइफ, आईसीआईसीआई बैंक, टाटा कंज्यूमर प्रोडक्ट्स, विप्रो और रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज प्रमुख लाभ में रहे, जबकि हारने वालों में सन फार्मा, डॉ रेड्डीज लैब्स, बीपीसीएल, एनटीपीसी और टीसीएस शामिल थे।
